FIKA(S) is launching its very first OFF FIKA(S) — a series of special events leading up to our full festival return in 2027. And to open the series, we’re thrilled to welcome back a beloved artist from our community: Montreal-based Norwegian singer-songwriter Marthe Halvorsen.
Montreal-based Norwegian singer-songwriter Marthe Halvorsen has just released her long-awaited second album, Feed the Fire, Breathe the Night. This collection of indie-folk songs, both atmospheric and distinctive, showcases Halvorsen’s rare talent for creating music that feels at once deeply intimate and universally resonant. With introspective lyrics and her unmistakable voice, she strikes an emotional chord that lingers long after the last note.
Feed the Fire, Breathe the Night brings music back to something truly organic and heartfelt — an album for those who need to take a deep breath in 2025.
Recorded between Montreal and Northern Norway, Feed the Fire, Breathe the Night is an album that dares to exist on its own terms. Whether she’s singing about personal experiences or shared humanity, her music expresses a profound longing for meaning, connection, and wholeness in an increasingly fragmented world.
Halvorsen will be joined on stage by several of the musicians featured on the album.
