Montréal, August 23, 2022 – FIKA(S), Immersive Festival of Scandinavian and Nordic Kultur and Art, is thrilled to announce its return to Montréal this fall! This 4th edition will take place from October 17 to 23 in various locations around the city, for 7 days of events and activities. From music to cinema to workshops and encounters, the multidisciplinary festival once again this year invites the public to celebrate the Nordic and Scandinavian cultures in their various forms.Founded in 2015, the “Diffusion culturelle FIKA(S) organisation” inaugurated its first event in March 2016: the Immersive Festival of Scandinavian and Nordic Kultur and Art - FIKA(S). The Name FIKA(S) is a french acronym for Festival Immersif de Kultur et d'Art Scandinave / Nordique. Since then, 3 editions (2016, 2017 and 2019) have been presented by the FIKA(S) festival. The events of the last edition brought together over 35,000 people. The 4th edition of FIKA(S) was scheduled for March 2022 and postponed from October 17 to October 23, 2022.

We would like to begin by acknowledging that the Festival FIKA(S) is located on unceded Indigenous lands. The Kanien’kehá:ka Nation is recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters on which we gather today. Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal is historically known as a gathering place for many First Nations. Today, it is home to a diverse population of Indigenous and other peoples. We respect the continued connections with the past, present and future in our ongoing relationships with Indigenous and other peoples within the Montreal community.
